Description
This is a signed letter from author Frederick Manfred (1912-1994), who was also known as Feike Feikema."Feike Feikema" was the pen-name that was frequently used by American writer Frederick Feikema Manfred. Born on a farm in Iowa, he worked as a factory laborer, newspaperman, political campaigner, and many other occupations, before becoming a novelist. Among his novels are The Primitive, The Golden Bowl, Boy Almighty, This is the Year, and The Chokecherry Tree. The letter, dated December 7, 1957, was sent to an autograph collector named Jim Schendel. The letter is typed and signed on a sheet of Manfred's stationery, with his name and address embossed at the top (Manfred was living in Minnesota at that time). The letter is in fine condition, with a crease where it has been folded. The photos make the letter look somewhat yellowish, but in fact the letter is still clean and white.
