    Description

This is a 1971 letter from Governor Winfield Dunn.
    Bryant Winfield Culberson Dunn
(born 1927) is a Republican politician
    who served as
the 43rd Governor of Tennessee, from 1971 to 1975.
    Dunn
had earlier served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Later he worked in the insurance industry, as a dentist, and as
an officer in several medical organizations. Dunn has continued
to be active in Republican politics.
The letter is 10" by 7", and is typed on the
    governor's
    stationery.
This letter is dated January 6, 1971. It is addressed to a man named
Schuyler E. Tallman (1927-1911), of Amsterdam, New York. Tallman
had also served in the navy during WWII, and it may be that they
    were old acquaintances.
    The letter
    appears
to be signed by the governor. However, this
signature looks different from the other specimens of his autograph
that I have seen. This could be due to the fact that it was signed
with a magic-marker type pen. However,
    it is possible that
the letter was signed by someone other than Dunn
    ,
    and
so I am NOT selling this letter as an authentic autograph
    .
    The letter
is in good condition, with moderate wear.
This letter is enclosed in a clear plastic sleeve, for protection.
