    Description

    DESCRIPTION:
    Antique cut glass perfume bottle with all over heavy engraving depicting bamboo.
    The engraving appears to be inspired by Japanese design which was popular during the aesthetic movement.
    Our guess is that this dates to around the last quarter of the 19
    th
    century or perhaps the very early 20
    th
    century.
    We are unsure if it might be American made, or perhaps it is British or French.
    We are certain that it is an antique and not a modern bottle.

    MARKS:
    Apparently unmarked by the manufacturer.  Stopper marked “3”.  The undersides of the bottle with a corresponding number 3.
    CONDITION:
    In good antique preowned condition free from large chips, cracks, stains, damages, and repairs.  The underside has typical and expected wear from normal dresser top use.
    The stopper has 3 minor bruises/nicks to the faceting which isn’t at first obvious, but which can be found under close scrutiny.
    These bruises will appear much larger in our greatly magnified photo than they will in person.
    MEASUREMENTS:
    The maximum height with the stopper in place is 5 3/4 inches.  The base measures about 1 3/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches.
