1971 SUABARU FF1 Lot of (3) Authentic Vintage Ads ~ MSRP ,898 ~ FREE SHIPPING!
1971 Subaru 2-Door Sedan lot of (3) original vintage advertisements.
    DESCRIPTION:
The Subaru is not a Japanese Beetle. At 70 mph it doesn

    t even breathe hard.
Do you hear vibrations? We don’t. Horizontally-opposed engine at work. Quiet.
Do you have front-wheel drive?- We do. Our front-wheel drive makes safety corners, surefoot curves, holds the road, zips through ice or snow. Power to the front wheels!
Turning circle. Just 31.5 — easy little feet. Feet smaller than you-know-whose.
    Inboard brakes.
We've taken our front brakes out of the wheels which gives you 1: a remarkable stable ride with 2: marvelously light-handed steering.
    Hey, racing fans. Rack-and-pinion steering.
2 doors not enough? For about 0 more, we can also give you 4.
What? Your back — windows don't open? Ours do.
Oh, the room in the trunk; it boggles the mind. How do you like 6 full sets of golf-clubs plus 3 hefty suitcases? We like 48 soccer balls.
Look. No fan, no fan belt.
Listen. No fan noise. Learn. It takes a lot of horses to drive the fan. We use ours to drive the car.
    How
    do we keep it cool?
    With
two radiators, not one. And a clever thermostatic device that automatically takes over when the going gets hot.
Where’s the spare? With the jack and the engine locked under the hood. Doesn’t everybody?
6-footer leg-room up front. And nobody has to ride sidesaddle in back.
Oh, my aching back? Not in
our Subaru. An orthopedist designed our seats. Anatomical, adjustable, and ahhh, reclining.
You know what's missing? That hump in the floor, thank goodness.
Independent suspension, all 4 wheels. Takes the ump out of bump, even in back.
The price? 98.40* and not stripped down, but loaded with the options most people buy.
*Total suggested retail price. Local taxes, dealer prep, inland freight, etc., extra.
    THE WHAT?
    THE SUBARU.
The Subaru is not another Toyota or a different Datsun or a Japanese Beetle or anything like Detroit. The Subaru is ,900 and front wheel drive.
Front-wheel drive is better. It’s up-front steering, upfront power, up-front weight. You don't brake on curves or shimmy in cross-winds. Your back won't swingout cornering. On ice. snow, all the slick or skiddy spots, it’s control no rear-wheel drive can give. We've got it. They don't.
    Rack-and-pinion steering, like racingcars. (One
small Detroit car has it —
but not with our front-wheel drive, fanless engine, radiators, suspension, body, inboard brakes, reclining seats, trunk space, or our price!)
Front-wheel drive is no hump in the floor. 6-footer leg-room up front.
No one riding side-saddle in back. (In 1 month alone, 47 Subarus were sold in Austin, Texas. Ever see a tiny Texan?)
Ahah! The gas tank. Moved to a safe midship position in case some dummy klops you from behind. Where’s theirs? Regular gas, of course.
25 to 30 mpg, at least.
    Independent suspension —
not 2, but all 4 wheels. We know a small car needs it. But check the others and see how rare it is.
Inboard brakes make the steering even easier (and the turning circle smaller: 31.5 feet). It’s like having power steering. Only cheaper.
Fanless engine! The only car off the track that has one. No fan, no fan belt, no fan noise. It takes a lot of horses to drive a fan. We use ours to drive the car. As Motor Trend said. It's "a poor man’s BMW 2800 six.”
Road Test says the cooling system’s almost as unique as the engine. Two radiators, not one. A thermostatic device takes over when the going gets hot. (Even at 120 F, a desert driving Californian says it's never once over-heated.)
And who else has a monocoque body — the strength-without-weight welded shell with no bolts, nothing to rattle?
The Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. (But why should the rich get all the riches?)
And front-wheel drive is more space in the trunk. You can get 48 soccer balls into ours. Don’t try it in theirs.
Who else gives you that for this?
Who else gives you that for this?
2 doors ,398.40! 4 doors ,998.40! A 4-door -wagon with a hatch and tailgate ,098.40! loaded with everything from carpeting to push-button radio. Add local taxes, dealer prep & freight, and you've got what Motor Trend calls the car that “qualifies in the group of all-time golden bargains along with the Zippo lighter and the 10-cent Newport ferry ride before the bridge went in."
At 70mph it doesn’t even breathe hard. The what? The Subaru.
“THE SUBARU IS A SON OF A GUN

The darndest front-wheel drive, fanless engine, reclining seat,rack-and-pinion steering, stable ride, high speed, low cost, 3 kinds of small car you've ever seen. And at 70m.p.h. it doesn't even breathe hard. The What? The Subaru.
Guess how much it costs? Just guess.
